What it does in ContentPulse: Will let you publish articles to your Medium account (personal or under a publication you write for). Status: Coming soon Tier: Will be available on Suite and higher.
Before you start (prerequisites — when it ships)
- Account requirement: A Medium account at https://medium.com. Free.
- Integration token: Medium uses a personal integration token rather than OAuth. You'll generate one in Medium settings and paste it into ContentPulse. We'll show you exactly where when this ships.
- Cost: Free. Medium doesn't charge for API publishing.
A note on Medium's API status: Medium has deprecated its public API for new applications since 2018, but existing personal-token integrations continue to work. ContentPulse will use personal integration tokens that each user generates from their own account — no app registration with Medium is required. This means the integration depends on Medium not removing personal tokens entirely; if they do, we'll communicate alternatives.
Step-by-step setup
This integration isn't live yet. When it ships, the connection flow will be:
- Generate a personal integration token in Medium → Settings → Integration tokens.
- Paste it into ContentPulse's Medium connect modal.
- Done.
We'll publish a full step-by-step guide when the integration ships.
What you'll be able to do once connected
- Publish articles to your Medium profile.
- Publish to publications you're an editor or writer for.
- Set article tags (up to 5 per Medium's limit) and canonical URL.
Restrictions (planned)
- Medium's API is read-only for everything except publishing — we can't fetch your existing drafts.
- No image upload via API — include images by URL in the article body.
- Article status: published, draft, or unlisted.
